Our story

Walibi Rhône-Alpes park through time

For 45 years, thousands of visitors have come through the park's gates to experience exciting adventures with family and friends. The park Walibi Rhône-Alpes has seen generations of people grow up, making children who have become parents dream, collaborating with the grandchildren of its first employees, thus creating a big family !

The park has changed a lot, its name, its mascot, its decorations, its attractions... but it has always kept the same objective: to make its visitors live a unique experience.

A PARK ANCHORED IN ITS TERRITORY

Walibi Rhône-Alpes works closely with the town hall of Les Avenières Veyrins-Thuellin, the community of communes of the Balcons du Dauphiné, Isère Tourisme and Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme to develop partnerships and visibility operations that contribute to the dynamism of the territory.

The public/private partnership established with the Balcons du Dauphiné allows the park to accompany the community of municipalities in one of its missions: the promotion of tourism by promoting the territory, the reception and the tourist offer of the latter. For example, our visitors can find on the park a photo space highlighting the intercommunality as well as a map of the territory of the Balcons du Dauphiné.

On the other hand, on a more local level, the park is involved in an annual plan to subsidize the sports associations of the municipality of Les Avenières Veyrins-Thuellin in order to facilitate the renewal of the youth teams' uniforms or the renewal of equipment.

In November 2022, Walibi Rhône-Alpes joined the "Emblematic Tourist Sites in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes" network for the period 2022-2028.

Thanks to its ambitious transformation plan started in 2016, and still in progress, presented to the Tourism Commission of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region, the park is proud to enter the "Emblematic Tourist Sites in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes" network for the period 2022-2028.

The winning sites will benefit from personalized regional support through effective networking and enhanced communication actions, in order to develop their image and attractiveness, in conjunction with the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Tourisme agency. Special attention will be paid to developing more sustainable projects, in response to the Region's objective of making Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes the leading European destination for sustainable tourism.
